Zervio.ai is an artificial intelligence company specializing in healthcare fraud detection and analysis. We built a purpose-driven platform to systematically identify Medicare billing anomalies at scale using publicly available CMS data.

The Platform

Our platform combines multiple analytical approaches to surface providers whose billing patterns deviate significantly from their peers:

• Multi-source data fusion — integrating CMS Part B billing, Part D prescribing, Open Payments (Sunshine Act), OIG exclusion lists, and NPPES registry data across multiple years
• Statistical peer-group analysis — z-score normalization within specialty cohorts to control for legitimate practice variation
• Rule-based anomaly detection — identifying logical impossibilities such as billing volumes exceeding available hours
• Machine learning — gradient-boosted models capturing non-linear interactions across billing dimensions
• Composite risk scoring — weighted aggregation of all signals into a single 0–100 score with tiered classification

The platform currently covers Florida providers across 66 medical specialties, analyzing data from 2021 through 2023. Geographic and temporal coverage expands as new CMS data becomes available.

Our Mission

Medicare fraud costs taxpayers tens of billions of dollars annually and diverts resources from patients who need them. We believe technology can play a critical role in identifying billing irregularities that warrant investigation — at a speed and scale that manual review cannot match.

Our goal is to produce rigorous, data-driven analysis that supports False Claims Act enforcement and helps recover funds for the public. Every finding we publish is grounded in publicly available government data and established statistical methodology.
